This is not an intellectual discourse. This is a literal experiment.

Go stand in front of a mirror, look into the reflection, and say "I like you" until it feels true.

Now put your hand over your heart and say to yourself, "I like you." until it feels true.

For me it took about thirty times each, but it finally stuck.
